The Leap Card system
Leap Card is Ireland's national public transport Smart Card system. Here is an example of a Leap card:

Most monthly and annual Taxsaver tickets are fulfilled on the Leap Card system.
The Leap cards that work for Taxsaver tickets are the Adult Personalised cards. These have your photo on them and the serial number begins with 2.
Note that the Leap card number is 14 digits. For security and data protection reasons Hubex will only collect and save the first 10 digits of the Leap card which is called your Leap Card Serial Number.
Depending on the ticket type that is ordered
- Hubex may suggest a Leap card number that is on the employee's account with Hubex and ask the employee to confirm they still have it.
- Hubex may ask for an upload of a face-pic and order and deliver a new Leap card
- Hubex may ask the employee to enter the serial number for a Personalised Leap card. If the employee does not have one of these then see the section below for how to apply.
Ordering a Personalised Leap card
To order a Personalised Leap card
- Go to https://leapcard.ie/en/StagingPage.aspx?CurrNavigationType=CardPurchaseStrategy
- Choose Adult Personalised as the Card Type
- Don't choose the option to add a ticket to the TFI Leap Card as your Taxsaver Ticket will be added to it instead so you avail of the tax relief.
- Upload your face-pic photo and follow the other instructions.
- You should receive your Personalised Leap Card within 5 working days. At that point you can go back to Hubex and order your Taxsaver Ticket.
